Behavior Modification

Behavior Modification

Behavior modification is not “training. ” Training teaches the learner a certain skill or behavior while in behavior modification we work to change the dog’s emotional state so they can make better choices. People, animal, or object directed reactivity or aggression can be a scary thing to the pet guardian who has to take their pet out on a walk. Things like barking, lunging, pulling on leash, or baring teeth can be embarrassing or frightening if you are afraid you may lose control of your animal. Oftentimes the root of these reactive behaviors in your dog is fear. And punishing out the barking and growling only leaves you with an animal that, when it feels threatened, will no longer warn you before biting.

Reducing reactivity involves desensitizing your dog to the triggers that make him scared to go out in public. We work to build his confidence, make the scary things less scary, and help the pet guardian to understand the management needed to help their dog live more comfortably in their daily environment.

Your trainer will travel up to 20 driving miles to your location at no additional charge. (If further away a distance charge will be applied.)

A Consultation with your trainer is is required before scheduling any private sessions.

The initial 75 minute assessment is $125. Private training is $100 per hour. One dog per private training session.

We do NOT offer sessions 7 days before, 7 days after, or on major holidays.

Choices Pet Sitters Services

At Choices Pet Sitters reducing fear, anxiety, and stress in your pet is our goal. We want your pet to feel comfortable while you are away. While we care for dogs and cats we also care for other pets who must remain home due to size, limited off-site professional options, the danger of exposure to pathogens, and a variety of other reasons. By coming to your home to visit, rather than removing your pet from your home, we satisfy the basic pet care needs of pets who might otherwise fail to thrive in another location while you are away. While no one can replace YOU as your pet’s stable and steady companion, an educated Choices Pet Sitters In-Home Pet Sitter is an important consideration for your pet’s safety and long-term well being. We want to be there for you. What are you waiting for? Click on the buttons to find out more about the pet sitting services you are interested in for your family.
NOTE: We are not a kennel and do NOT board/kennel pets off your property. As professional pet sitters, we come to your home for service.
